Special Assembly by II-E, My Mother - My World 14th May 2019 – Special Assembly by II-E, My Mother - My World

‘God could not be everywhere, so He created mothers.’

 

A mother has a very special place in the heart of her child. She takes care of her children and plays a great role in their lives from giving birth to making them a good human being. We cannot count our mother's contribution in our lives however we can say big thanks and give a lot of respect and love to her. Every year, there is a day set aside to thank our mother. It is called Mother’s day. It is a day dedicated to all the mothers to honor the motherhood. It is celebrated every year on second Sunday of May. In order to celebrate this wonderful occasion, the students of class II - E presented an assembly on the topic ‘MY MOTHER- MY WORLD’ on 14th May 2019. The students spoke about the unconditional love that a mother gives to her child and how she nurtures them through the stages of their lives. They recited a beautiful poem also.

Thereafter, certificates were given away to the winners of “Collage Making Competition- Using Natural Waste” held for the students of class II.





Inter House Electro Band Competition 08th May 2019 – Inter House Electro Band Competition

An Inter House Electro Band Competition was held in our school on Wednesday where students from different houses mesmerized the audience with their skilful play of various musical instruments like guitar, drums, tambourine and piano.

These competitions are an integral part of the school curriculum as they provide an opportunity to the students to explore their innate talents as well as display their musical abilities. Each house had a main vocalist, choir, pianist, drummer and guitarist. They presented a beautiful amalgamation of delightful songs on the tunes of various instruments.

Music was in the air throughout the programme. It was fascinating to witness all the four houses put up quite a magnificent performance. Participants were profusely complimented by our respected Principal Ma’am on their stellar performance. The result was announces at the end of the programme and on the basis of cumulative score of all the four houses, Harmony house was declared the winner while there was a tie between Pride and Peace house for the second position. Glory secured the third position.

The winners and their mentors were congratulated and appreciated for the hard work.





Collage Making Competition - Class II 08th May 2019 – Collage Making Competition - Class II

To do our bit on saving nature, a Collage Making Competition was organized for the students of class II using natural waste materials on 8th May 2019. Waste material is something that is thought to be of no use and all of us have a tendency to discard it. But the young minds of class II using their creativity and imagination made a good use of these waste materials. They created beautiful collages using natural waste materials like dried leaves and flowers, fruits and vegetables peeling, peanut shells, pista shells, coconut shell and pencil shavings etc. It was an intra-class competition which made the students realize how they can put waste material to use and it is not just something which needs to be discarded. The competition gave the students an opportunity to showcase their talent and from each class best collages were selected, and the work of each and every student was appreciated.

Special Assembly by II-D - Hard work is the key to success 07th May 2019 – Special Assembly by II-D - Hard work is the key to success

'Hard work is the key to success' is a well-known adage. Everyone wants to be successful in their life but only a few become successful. The reason of most of the failures in life is the absence of hard work. Students of class II-D conducted the morning assembly on the topic 'Hard work is the key to success' on Tuesday, 7th May 2019. Young students presented the famous examples of Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan that they struggled hard throughout their lives to achieve their goals. Every successful person in history has worked hard to gain fame, however we must also work hard to be successful in our own eyes. Then an inspiring poem ‘Koshish karne walo ki kabhi haar nahi hoti” was also presented by students of II D. At the end, students presented a dance on this theme with colorful props in their hands. It was a wonderful assembly that inspired everyone present there to realize that success is a reward for hard work. The assembly concluded with giving away of certificates to the winners of “Coloring Competition” of class Blooms and “Poem Recitation Competition- The Earth Of My Dreams” of Class I.

“What I stand for is what I stand on”

Earth is our planet and a most important need for the continuity of life. Saving earth is the prime responsibility of every citizen to make the planet worth living for the future generations.

Beauty is the realm of poetry and children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration poem recitation competition was held on the topic ‘Earth of My Dreams’ on 1st May, 2019  for the students of class I, wherein students recited informative poems with colorful props and costumes.

They participated with great enthusiasm and jubilation. The students were appreciated for their confidence and performances, which they showcased arduously on the stage during the competition.

Special Assembly by II-C - Honor Labor Today And Everyday 30th April 2019 – Special Assembly by II-C - Honor Labor Today And Everyday

International Labor Day is observed across the globe every year on 1st May to honor the achievements and contribution of working professionals. Stressing on the importance of the same, the students of class II C presented an informative assembly on the topic 'Honor Labor Today and Everyday’ on 30th April 2019. The students spoke about Labor Day and its significance for all the working people. Students showcased varied community helpers like people who sell things, people who repair things, policemen, doctor and teacher etc. They spoke about their work and importance in our daily lives. This was followed by a rhythmic and melodic poem recitation by students, honoring all our helpers.  The message of respecting all forms of work was conveyed beautifully. The assembly concluded with giving away of medals to the Olympiad winners. The winners are as follows-

Weekly Counseling on Team Work- Class IV-V 30th April 2019 – Weekly Counseling on Team Work- Class IV-V

Team work topic was taken up as part of weekly counseling periods in classes IV & V.  Through group discussions the importance of working in team was put forward. After this discussion, each class was divided into 4 groups with 7-8 children in each group. The groups had to select their team leader and they had to make a news channel or a radio channel wherein each member of the group would have some role to play. Through this activity children would learn how to work in a team and how to overcome the challenges they face while working together.




Excursion Trip To National Museum- Class VI 30th April 2019 – Excursion Trip To National Museum- Class VI

According to Francis Bacon, travelling is a part of education. An excursion is not just pleasure trip; it enhances the knowledge of the students beyond the four walls of the classroom.

To provide such an enriching experience to students, SGS organized an excursion for Class VI, Section – B & E on 30th April, Class VI Section – C & D on 1st May and Class VI Section - A, on 2nd May to National Museum, New Delhi.

The National Museum of India takes us to extensive works of art & culture from past. The National Museum is situated in a three storied building. The first floor is connected with affairs of India, Second floor related to the International field and the third floor is devoted to the achievements of India states in different field.

The Museum gives an insight to 5000 years of India’s History and the achievements and innovations in terms of art, culture and other field of development. The departments of museum are Pre-historic Archaeology, Archaeology, Manuscripts, Numismatics, Epigraphy, Paintings, Arms & Armor, Decorative arts, Central Asian Antiquities, Education, Publication and Conservation.

Students were mesmerized by the enriching learning experience they had at the museum. Pupils were thrilled to see the kind of lives led during pre-historic & historic times, it helped them realize the pace of development India has gone through at each and every stage and at the same time got a glimpse of global advancement with time.

The Student’s pleasure was beyond measure at his extremely fulfilling excursion and they shall cherish this refreshing experience in their memories. SGS along with students express their gratitude to the Staff at National Museum for their hospitality, support and their pivotal role in conserving the rich history.

Weekly Counseling Session For Class III Topic: Honesty 29th April 2019 – Weekly Counseling Session For Class III Topic: Honesty

The topic ‘Honesty’ was taken as part of weekly counseling session in class III for the month of April’2019.  The meaning of the word ‘honesty’ was discussed and explained to all. The teacher also laid emphasis on its relevance in one’s life along with real life examples.

REAL LIFE BASED ACTIVITY

Each student was asked to narrate an episode where they were dishonest or lied to somebody. Thereafter the reason was also discussed.

SITUATIONAL ACTIVITY

Few scenarios were given to students about lying and they would be getting three options out of which only one would be an honest answer and the students were supposed to choose the best suitable options according to them.





Workshop on ASD and ADHD 27th April 2019 – Workshop on ASD and ADHD

Sachdeva Global School conducted a workshop on the symptoms and strategies to deal with Children with Special Needs on 27th April, 2019. The main focus of the workshop was to develop a Basic understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). This workshop explored the four core areas affected by ASD: Communication, Social Interaction, Sensory Issues and how an individual may think and learn.  In addition the three main signs or symptoms of ADHD: Inattention, Hyperactivity and impulsivity were also emphasised along with the basic strategies (Class Room Management, Behaviour Management) for dealing with individuals with ASD/ADHD.

The main objective of the workshop was to sensitise the Teachers of the School about:

Building a better understanding of ASD and ADHD.

Exploring some of the reasons an individual with ASD may react differently.

Developing a Broader understanding of why and how information may need to be presented in more structured manner.

Managing the child with ASD/ADHD in an inclusive setup.

The workshop was informative and interactive in nature and was greatly appreciated by the participants.

Special Assembly- I believe in God, I call it nature 25th April 2019 – Special Assembly- I believe in God, I call it nature

Keeping up with the spirits of Earth day students of class X-B, conducted the morning assembly on April 25, 2019. The theme for their assembly was- “I believe in God, I call it nature”. The students through their assembly emphasized on the fact that our society as we live today is a gift of nature. With each generation man has added something in its society, but sadly had taken much more from nature and never replenished it.

The assembly began with the thought for the day by Vanya. Gunnika and Anshika addressed the gathering mentioning the step we need to take to preserve our environment. The thought was then followed by the International News by Raghav, National news by Prateek, School News by Pooja, Sports New by Saloni and Weather by Rohan.

The students also presented a skit on the theme showcasing massive deforestation and wars, all of it leading to the ultimate doom of mankind. Mother nature was personified and enacted by Tanya Jain wherein she mentioned the unprecedented rise of materialism that has left ’her’ devastated.

Diya Aggarwal and Prashansa then recited a self-written poem, on the theme. The poem was a strong reminder that human speak of love and yet they destroy nature.

The assembly concluded with the birthdays of the week.

Gender Sensitization 25th April 2019 – Gender Sensitization

As part of sensitizing the students about the POCSO act and introducing the committee members to all the students, Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar, the HOS, addressed the students in the morning assembly on 25th April’2019. Students were informed about the basic tenets of the POCSO act along with the steps that should be taken by the students in case they experience or see someone else experiencing bullying, harassment and/or intimidation. She also counseled the students about the proper code of conduct when it comes to interacting with the opposite sex and cited real life incidents to raise gender awareness among the students.

“The Earth is what we all have in common".

With the view of motivating students and helping them in developing bond with the environment, a Colouring Competition was organised on 24th April, 2019 for the students of BLOOMS on the occasion of Earth Day.

Children used different colours to portray their imagination about their ideal planet.

The end result was spectacular. In all , keeping up with the Earth Day spirit , the children tried their best and enjoyed the activity.

Educational Trip to Crafts Museum - Class VII 24th April 2019 – Educational Trip to Crafts Museum - Class VII

SGS organized an educational trip to Crafts Museum in association with Times of India for class VII on 23rd and 24th April, 2019. Crafts Museum showcased the rare finest specimens of traditional Indian handicrafts & handlooms which are preserved with the objective to use them for revival, reproduction & development of Indian crafts. The students were impressed to see the beautiful specimens in various crafts, acquired over a period of 60 years from every state of India. A video was shown to help students understand the process of using natural colors in various art sculptures. The students were impressed by the traditional artifacts like metal lamps, sculptures, tribal paintings, clay and terracotta figures, impressive fabrics like Kalamkaris, Pashmina, Chikankari, Ikkat etc. All over the trip not only educated students about the special crafts of various states but also evoked a feeling of pride to be part of such a rich, vivid culture, producing some of world’s rare craft forms.




Inter House Skating Competition 24th April 2019 – Inter House Skating Competition

An Inter- House Skating Competition was conducted in Sachdeva Global School. The competition was held at two levels i.e. III-V and VI-VIII. The students participated with full enthusiasm and zeal. Four students from each house participated in the competition. The students portrayed their talent and skating skills. They showcased an energetic and enthusiastic performance which was applauded by the audience. The results of the competition are as follows-

Workshop on Healthy Eating Habits for Classes IV-V 23rd April 2019 – Workshop on Healthy Eating Habits for Classes IV-V

                      “The first wealth is health.”

Eating healthy is said to be the key to a healthy quality life. Our physical fitness and overall health is highly dependent on what we eat. Hence, it is very essential to adopt healthy eating habits. To make the students aware about the same, a workshop on ‘Healthy Eating Habits’ was conducted by ‘Cornitos-Nachos’ for the students of classes IV and V. It was an informative and interactive session wherein the students were told the difference between healthy and unhealthy snacks and which type of snacks they should eat when they feel hungry. The students enjoyed the workshop and at the end were provided with a packet of Cornitos nachos each.

PPT Making Competition 23rd April 2019 – PPT Making Competition

An Inter –School PowerPoint Presentation making competition was held in N. K. Bagrodia Public School on 23rd April, 2019. Hardik Bhagtanti and Ruchi Singhania of Class VII D brought laurels to schools by bagging the second position. They had to create and present a PPT on a Scientist of their choice. The students chose ‘Stephen Hawking’ and presented the PPT in an interactive way. They skilfully answered the questions asked by the judges.

 





Slow the Flow, Save H2o 23rd April 2019 – Slow the Flow, Save H2o

Water is one of the nature's precious gifts to mankind. Life on the earth is possible only because of water. Three fourth surface of the earth is covered by water however it contains very less percentage of clean water which is fit for human consumption. To tell us about the water scarcity and how to conserve it, the students of class II - B presented an assembly on the topic 'SLOW THE FLOW, SAVE H2O'. The students spoke about the importance of water, its uses and the reasons of water scarcity and contamination. They recited poems on water and highlighted the vital role of water in our lives. They recited a Hindi couplet “Rahiman Pani Rakhiye” and emphasized on water’s importance. Students of II B spoke with poise and gave a message that we should save water and a little effort from our end can give a big positive result towards the save water campaign.

Workshop on Career Counseling- Class XII 23rd April 2019 – Workshop on Career Counseling- Class XII

Students of class XII (All streams) were taken for a career counseling workshop to Happy Model School, Janakpuri on 23rd April’2019. The workshop was first taken up by Mr. Jitin Chawla who is an eminent career counselor. He talked about various career options for students after class XII for all streams. He even spoke about time management skills and ways to stay motivated for their exams and life afterwards. The second speaker of the day was Mr. Ritesh Jain who spoke about various ways/tips for cracking different competitive exams. He provided the students with knowledge about universities abroad and the changes that have taken place over time. All in all it was a very interactive and informative workshop for students





Career Education Fair- Class XI 22nd April 2019 – Career Education Fair- Class XI

Students of class XI attended to the CAREER EDUCATION FAIR organised by Pragati Public School, Dwarka on 22nd April, 2019.

The agenda of the event was to create awareness about the possible career options through counselling and customised programmes.

Choosing the right subject that matches one’s aptitude and personality itself translates into professional success. Students were suggested by experts the right way to decide which subject one is good at.

Experts guided students to analyse in a rational manner about their opportunities and aspirations. It gave exposure to the students regarding endless possibilities that exist beyond and within the conventional streams of medicine and engineering. The interaction was well structured yet elaborative. In addition, the queries raised by the students were also addressed.

They were enlightened about the subjects / areas of study that they need to lay emphasis upon. The students were motivated to think and plan constructively for their future.

The event helped the students and the parents to career related guidance by visiting the various stalls and a platform to interact with a delegation of eminent speakers from various educational institution/ universities such as IILM University(Gurugram), RoboGenius learning solutions limited, Monash University (Australia), Hanze University of Applied Sciences (Groningen), Crayons Academy for skills Excellence, Rennes school of Business (France), Manasvi Wellbeing Pvt. Ltd.(Gurugram), IDP Education India private limited, Unique Shiksha IAS coaching institute and Academy of Sports Sciences Research and Management.

“Books are a uniquely portable magic.” – Stephen King

As reading forms an essential part of a child’s growth therefore to inculcate good reading habits among the children and to create lifelong readers, our school organizes book fairs on regular basis.

 

Classes Buds to II got an opportunity to browse through the interesting collection on display and to select and purchase books of their own choice. It was an enriching activity which was held in the school premises from 22 to 26 April. On 27 April the parents along with their kids also enjoyed the reading session.

 





Inter House Cricket Competition 20th April 2019 – Inter House Cricket Competition

The importance of sports encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. It helps in enhancing self-esteem and mental alertness among students. Also, it teaches punctuality, discipline and teamwork.

Keeping this in mind, Sachdeva Global School organized an Inter House Cricket Match in the school premises on 20 April 2019. The match was conducted at two levels, i.e. III-V and VI-VIII. The matches were played between the four houses.

All decked up to prove their mettle. The enthusiastic crowd experienced a thrilling performance with all the teams exhibiting their best throughout the match. The winners were cheered and the efforts of the runners up were equally appreciated. All the participants presented an impressive show.

Special Assembly- A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs and knowledge 18th April 2019 – Special Assembly- A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs and knowledge

Students of class X-A conducted the morning assembly on April 18, 2019. The theme for their assembly was- “A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs and knowledge”. The students through their assembly wanted to emphasize on the fact that our society as we live today is a result of the learnings and gains over centuries. With each generation man has added something in its society, that still holds relevance even today, but we need to preserve our past to ensure a beautiful tomorrow.

With this thought, the assembly began with the thought for the day by Suproteek. Tanisha and Avikshith along with Aadya, were at the helm of the assembly for the day. The thought was then followed by the International News by Divya, National news by Mahima, School News by Arpita, Sports New by Kavish and Weather by Aditya.

Vaani and Nilanjana then recited a self-written ballad, on the theme. In their ballad, they beautifully highlighted the evolution of the current civilization to its present state. They also highlighted the need for being attached to our roots, so as to ensure that we don’t get enslaved by the bots that we are creating ourselves.

The assembly concluded with the birthdays of the week.

Geetigya Joshi of class XII-A was presented with the Student of the year award (award by NIE) on the day. Also Arnav Jaredja of class VI was awarded a tab that he had won in a competition organized by Baiju’s.

Heal The Earth, Heal The Future 16th April 2019 – Heal The Earth, Heal The Future

Our planet Earth is truly a magnificent place and an incredibly vibrant ecosystem. Earth day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciate Earth's natural environment. It is celebrated on 22nd April every year. To celebrate this day in our school, the students of class II A presented an assembly on the topic ‘Heal the Earth, Heal the Future’. The students spoke about the conservation of nature and environment and how we can protect our planet from destruction. They sang a lively song dedicated to the ‘Mother Earth’. It was also emphasized that it is our responsibility towards Mother Nature as Global Citizen so as to protect it from deterioration and keep it green and clean. It was an informative assembly which helped the students to learn a lot about the conservation of environment.

Excursion - Air Force Museum 11th April 2019 – Excursion - Air Force Museum

The students of class 3 of our school got the golden opportunity to explore the Air Force museum which gave them the chance to understand the great history of our nation. A small trip was organised for them on 11th April 2019 which started off with great enthusiasm and merriment, also it was a new and exciting experience for the young kids.

The Museum Entrance features an indoor display gallery that contains historic photographs, uniforms and personal weapons of the Indian Air Force from its inception in 1932. There is an outdoor gallery too that exhibits aircrafts, several war trophies, equipments and captured enemy vehicles. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and returned to the school with wonderful memories and refreshing spirit.

SGS organized an interesting and informative trip for students of class IX, on 9, 10,11th April, 2019 to Aravali Biodiversity Park. The Aravali Biodiversity Park located on the South Central Ridge, spreads over an area of 692 acres and is currently hosting 20 distinct forest communities. Today the park has become home for over 1,000 different species of plants, 190 species of birds, 90 species of butterflies and over a lakh species of insects. The Park features two major zones - the visitor zone and the nature reserve zone.

The children explored the ‘Butterfly Garden’, the ‘Fernery’ and the ‘Medicinal Plants Conservatory’. They were guided by the team members of the bio diversity park who explained the significance and functions of various plant and animal species found there. Students were informed about medicinal plants and their uses in modern day Ayurveda. This was followed by a zone of artificially created rainforest which included different flora species. Students had the chance to come across the Bat and butterfly conservatory where they were showed many butterfly species at different life stages. They also visited the orchid observatory and learned many facts about forest life.


Towards the end, children were shown a short movie which showcased the beautiful flora and fauna found in the mystic landscape of Aravali. 
The trip concluded with a discussion where students were given time to ask their doubts from the resource person. In a nutshell, it was an enriching experience for the students.

The zealous Globalites who recently participated in INTER SCHOOL YOGA COMPETITION 2019 on 6 APRIL 2019 have brought laurels to school by bagging the 2nd POSITION. The event was organized by N. K BAGRODIA PUBLIC SCHOOL, Sector - 4 Dwarka, New Delhi where the enthralling players displayed their skill and efficiency in the true spirit and added yet another feather to the INDIVIDUAL yoga of the school.

05th April 2019 – "Stand UP and SPEAK" - Life Skills Workshop for class VIII

A workshop on the topic "STAND UP AND SPEAK" was organized for the students of class VIII  on April 5, 2019. The speaker was Ms. Nikita Taneja, who is trained speaker with the Promise Group.
The workshop was very motivating, interactive and full of activities. During the session, students were explained the significance of speaking up their thoughts and overcoming their fear of criticism. 
The session was an important step towards helping students boost their confidence and also helped them with their overall personality development.

Special Assembly- Welcome Assembly by Class XII 04th April 2019 – Special Assembly- Welcome Assembly by Class XII

Class XII conducted the welcome assembly on 4th April, 2019 in the school ground. The assembly began with an invocation to lord Ganesha through a classical dance performance. This was followed by poem recitation by Aaryan Singh and Apoorv Gupta of XII A on how to deal with unforeseen challenges in life. The assembly ended with a dramatization by students highlighting four words (love, growth, change and gratitude) that can bring about a transformation in ones lives and ensure that the students make the most of the new beginning. In a nutshell, it was an informative assembly that inspired the students to achieve greater heights in the new academic session.

Welcome Assembly -2019-20 02nd April 2019 – Welcome Assembly -2019-20

Teachers from Buds – Class II of Sachdeva Global School, Dwarka hosted a beautiful Welcome Assembly on Tuesday, 2 April 2019. To begin the new session and keeping the excitement quotient high, the teachers initiated the morning assembly by reciting the school prayer. It was followed by an enthralling poem to welcome back students which instilled in the students the feeling of belongingness for school.

The assembly ended with a thrilling dance performance on the ‘Welcome’ song which charged up the students and gave a perfect kick start to the session.

Our Head of School, Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar wished the young learners a great time ahead and scale higher in their academic journey.

Special Assembly- Year Gone By 14th March 2019 – Special Assembly- Year Gone By

A beautiful assembly was conducted by all the sections of class 3 on the theme “the year gone by” where the children revived all the joyful experiences they had during the last year. The assembly started by updating everyone with the latest news from around the world followed by the thought of the day.

The assembly emphasized on all the achievements that our kids have attained throughout the session. Children recited a beautiful poem on how the coming year always brings more happiness and excitement into everyone’s life. It also reminded us of all the wonderful past memories that will forever be cherished in our hearts. The assembly ended with giving birthday wishes to the students.

Special Assembly- Faith Can Move Mountains 14th February 2019 – Special Assembly- Faith Can Move Mountains

Students of class IV C presented the morning assembly on 14th February, 2019 on the topic ‘Faith Can Move Mountains’. The assembly began with the morning prayer followed by the thought for the day and updating the gathering with the latest news and headlines. The students then introduced their topic. The core idea of the topic was that we should have faith in God, our parents, our teachers and above all in oneself. They presented an enlightening speech, a poem, a skit and a melodious song on the topic.  The speech highlighted the faith we have in our parents, teachers, India Army and the faith in oneself while the poem was mainly about one’s faith in oneself.  The skit was about a boy who was struggling without having confidence in himself. With his father’s help and his hard work he attains his goal! All the students spoke with confidence. The presentation was truly a successful effort.
